Encouraging Better Practice in Aged Care (EBPAC)

Page last updated: 31 March 2017

The EBPAC initiative aimed to encourage and support the uptake of evidence-based, person-centred, better practice in Australian Government subsidised aged care services, through a focus on improving staff knowledge and skills and developing supporting resources, to improve outcomes for aged care recipients.

Commencing in 2007 as Encouraging Best Practice in Residential Aged Care (EBPRAC), the initiative was expanded to include community aged care. This resulted in a change of name to  “Encouraging Better Practice in Aged Care” (EBPAC). The initiative was concluded in 2015.

There were three funding rounds under this initiative.

  1. EBPRAC Round 1
  2. EBPRAC Round 2
  3. EBPAC Round 3
