Outcomes of DACS Funding Rounds – Research and Innovation 2016

The Department of Health has recently finalised a Research and Innovation funding round under the DACS program. The 2016 DACS Research and Innovation Grant Round has resulted in the commitment of more than $34 million to fund projects that support dementia, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and people from socially and culturally diverse backgrounds.

42 new grants have been allocated to universities, aged care providers, peak and community organisations across Australia. The selected projects will be funded up to 30 June 2019.

The 2016 DACS Research and Innovation Round has allocated funding under the following six grant opportunities. A list of the successful projects can be found at the links below:

  1. DACS Grant Opportunity 1 - Support for existing and emerging challenges in dementia 
  2. DACS Grant Opportunity 2 - Better support for services targeting people form diverse backgrounds 
  3. DACS Grant Opportunity 3 - Development that support innovation in aged care 
  4. DACS Grant Opportunity 4 - Support for activities focusing on Aboriginal; and Torres Strait Islander people 
  5. DACS Grant Opportunity 5 - Capital support for activities focussing on Aboriginal, and Torres Strait Islander people, and 
  6. DACS Grant Opportunity 6 - Seed funding for adaptive technology projects enable consumers to stay in their own home.
