You do not need to RSVP for live webinars and there is no limit to the number of participants that can attend. The webinar participation instructions are below.

Embedding support for Increasing Choice in Home Care

The Department of Health will be hosting a live webchat to respond to questions you may still have about the changes to home care packages that commenced on 27 February 2017. 

This is an opportunity to build on the knowledge you already have with a focus on clarifying operational questions that still exist.

Please note, in accordance with the Commonwealth Privacy Act 1988, the department will not be able to respond to details of specific cases that contain client data. These questions should be directed to the My Aged Care contact centre in the first instance.

Increasing Choice in Home Care embedding support28 March 2017

The webinar focused on:

  • addressing sector concerns about the My Aged Care system and/or processes since the start of the reform

  • myth-busting areas of confusion
  • An overview of the online claims system to support the home care reforms (presented by the Department of Human Services)

Operational readiness for Increasing Choice in Home CareWednesday 8 February 2017The webinar offered advice to the sector – in particular providers - on final steps to take to ensure they are prepared for the Increasing Choice in home care reforms starting on 27 February 2017.

Topics included:

  • Administrative activities in the lead up to the reform – including migration of data for existing providers and provision of service information for new providers
  • Planned communications to home care clients after 27 February
  • Additional materials to support the sector with the changes.

Increasing Choice in Home Care – Operational ReadinessTuesday 6 December 2016The webinar offered advice to the sector – in particular providers - on steps to take to ensure they are prepared for the Increasing Choice in home care reforms starting on 27 February 2017.

  • a consolidated view of how the key changes will be put into operation in the lead up to 27 February and beyond.

Increasing Choice in Home Care - Service Finder functionality Monday 21 November 2016    This webinar discussed the changes to the home care packages ‘Service Finder’ on My Aged Care.

This webinar outlined the changes to approved home care provider requirements and the associated quality provisions as a result of the Increasing Choice in home care reforms.

Additional information was also included on improvements that have been identified to the My Aged Care system as a result of co-design workshops.

National Prioritisation Process for Home Care PackagesThursday 11 August 2016This webinar is the third in a series of webinars about the 27 February 2017 changes to home care focussing on operational elements of the national prioritisation process for home care packages. This webinar covered:
  • A refresher of the reforms being introduced.
