Dear Aged Care Stakeholder

As the high risk season for warm weather is now upon us, it is vital that all aged care services are well prepared and able to respond to the possibility of heatwaves.

Maintaining quality care under these circumstances requires effective emergency risk management planning by providers and can require changes to ground level care provided to care recipients.

Warmer weather may impact on the older people in your care.  A letter for Residential Care, Home Care and HACC providers from Dr Sue Hunt, Senior Nurse Advisor, and heat wave checklist is attached to assist you in your responsibilities.

Kind regards
