Information about the Hepatitis A outbreak

Dear Aged Care Stakeholder

The Commonwealth Department of Health has asked that the following information be distributed to aged care providers.

There is currently an outbreak of Hepatitis A in Australia associated with the consumption of frozen berries.  As at 24 February 2015, none of the identified cases have been in an aged care setting.  However, addressees are advised that general information about the outbreak, the associated recall of berries, and more specific advice for consumers, patients, and health care practitioners, is available on the Australian Government Department of Health website:
