Dear Aged Care Stakeholder,
The Quarterly Review for March 2015 has been completed. The Quarterly Review is a process to align the fees that a care recipient pays with the fees associated with their care needs and changes to financial circumstances since the last Quarterly Review. The Quarterly Review also incorporates the 20 March 2015 indexation into the fees that care recipients are asked to pay.
Letters will be issued by the Department of Human Services to care recipients and aged care providers outlining any changes. Providers should start to receive these letters during the week of 13 April 2015.
Letters are only issued when there is a change to a care recipient’s fees including where a refund may be due. This would include where there was a change in the means tested, income tested or accommodation contribution fees. A change to only the basic daily fee will not trigger a letter.
