Good Morning

We would like to inform you that the grant application process has opened today for the Severe Behaviours Response Team competitive funding round. This Phase 1 funding round will support the establishment of a mobile workforce of clinical experts who will provide timely and expert advice to residential aged care providers that request assistance with addressing the needs of people with very severe and extreme behavioural issues and Behavioural and Psychological Symptoms of Dementia (BPSD).

Severe Behaviour Response Teams will focus solely on aged care residents posing a significant risk to either themselves or others.  SBRTs will act on referral from a Dementia Behaviour Management Advisory Service (DBMAS).

A total of up to $12.67 million in funding is available in 2015-16 for this programme.

Information on the application process is available on the Department of Social Service Severe Behaviour Response Teams webpage. Please follow the links on the website if you have any questions or email grants@dss.gov.au.

Kind regards
