Dear Aged Care Stakeholder,

As of early June, over 85% of organisations delivering Commonwealth funded aged care services have registered for access to the My Aged Care provider portal.  These organisations have either completed, or are in the process of updating their service information to be displayed on the My Aged Care public service finders; in readiness to receive referrals for service from July 2015.

Remaining organisations have until close of business 19 June 2015 to complete pre-registration of their administrator on the My Aged Care provider portal to ensure they are able to access the portal before 1 July 2015.  If registration is not completed by 19 June 2015, access to the portal and service referrals cannot be guaranteed for 1 July 2015.

Service referrals through My Aged Care will commence, along with the new My Aged Care Regional Assessment Service (RAS), in July 2015 (except in Western Australia and Victoria).

It is critical that all service provider organisations review and then activate their service information through the portal for those services to be displayed in the public service finder located on the My Aged Care website and to receive service referrals from My Aged Care.

Residential care providers will need to ensure that their information is updated in the new My Aged Care provider portal prior to 1 July 2015. We apologise if the transition to the new portal results in any duplication of effort relating to accommodation pricing data.

Guidance material on setting up organisational details, staff access and activating services is available at dss.gov.au/MyAgedCare.

In order for the Department to complete the system changes required for national roll out, the My Aged Care provider portal is expected to be unavailable over the weekend of the 27 – 28 June 2015. The system will be available up until close of business on Friday 26 June 2015 for providers to review and update service information and establish appropriate organisational details to manage referrals.  The portal will again be accessible from 8am (EST) on Monday 29 June 2015 for any final changes to be made by providers in advance of 1 July 2015.

For more information on what organisations delivering Commonwealth funded aged care services need to do, please see the attached table.
