Release of Exposure Draft Subordinate Legislation for 1 July 2014

As part of the ongoing process to implement the aged care reforms, a number of Aged Care Act 1997 related Principles will be amended or created for commencement on 1 July 2014.

Dear Aged Care Provider

As part of the ongoing process to implement the aged care reforms, a number of Aged Care Act 1997 related Principles will be amended or created for commencement on 1 July 2014.

Amendments to these Principles will range from minor and machinery in nature to more complex changes necessary to reflect changes that have already occurred to the Aged Care Act 1997.

Principles undergoing amendments other than just minor and technical changes are being released on the Department of Social Services website for consultation. The first of these are now available and include:

  • Accountability Principles 2014
  • Approval of Care Recipients Principles 2014
  • Approved Provider Principles 2014
  • Classification Principles 2014; and
  • Grant Principles 2014.

The Exposure Drafts will be available for viewing on the website for three weeks. Comments on the Exposure Drafts can be sent to AgedCareLegislation@dss.gov.au

Further Exposure Drafts will be released as they become available.
