What can you say about a man who started his emails...
     Dear...
     I hope you are well.

     And finished them with....
     Best wishes/Warm regards

Other than, that we always looked forward to the news and comments they contained and felt better afterwards.

Sadly, Graeme passed away on Tuesday 20th January 2015 after a short illness.

Apart from his academic role as Professor of Geography and Director of the Australian Population and Migration Research Centre with University of Adelaide and many professional accomplishments, Graeme served as Deputy Chairman of ACFA since its creation in August 2012.

He was known at ACFA for his quietly spoken words of wisdom at our monthly meetings and contributions to our major project reviews. His lasting legacy, however, will be the seminal cornerstone research "The Demographic Facts of Ageing in Australia"  - which he provided to the Aged Care Industry in June 2014.

As recognition of his many achievements Graeme was named an Officer of the Order of Australia in 2012.

The other members of ACFA and I wish to extend our sincere condolences to his wife and family and acknowledge his contribution to our Operating Charter and to each of us personally during the past three years.

We and the Aged Care industry have lost a generous heart, a significant intellect and warm guiding spirit.
