ACAT transition to My Aged Care

Aged Care Assessment Teams (ACATs) began using My Aged Care to conduct comprehensive assessments and referrals for residential care, transition care and home care packages from 1 February 2016.

The transition dates for each jurisdiction are listed below:

New South Wales 4 February 2016
Australian Capital Territory 15 February 2016
Tasmania 23 February 2016
Northern Territory 29 February 2016
Western Australia 29 February 2016
Victoria 7 March 2016
South Australia 15 March 2016

The transition means:

  • providers see electronic referrals from My Aged Care – accessible through the provider portal
  • some clients will directly approach providers with a My Aged Care referral code which providers allows access to the client’s record through the provider portal.

Please note service providers may continue to receive existing approval letters from clients, and will continue to check the approval using the Aged Care Online Claiming system before the client commences services.
