Historical summary of changes

1 February 2016 - ACAT transition to My Aged Care

On 1 February 2016, Aged Care Assessment Teams (ACATs) started using My Aged Care to conduct comprehensive assessments and referrals for residential care, transition care and home care packages. Detailed information is available on ACAT transition to My Aged Care.

1 July 2015 – My Aged Care expanded functionality

On 1 July 2015, My Aged Care expanded to introduce functions that better facilitate people’s access to the aged care services that they need.

26 June 2015 – Portal user guides – part two now available

For service providers

The 'My Aged Care Provider Portal User Guide: Part One – Administrator functions' was published on 18 May 2015. Part Two, covering portal transactions such as managing referrals and adding service delivery information is now available from the For service providers page.

The 'My Aged Care Guidance for Providers' document has been updated and now contains further detail around referral to waitlist and reports.

Please take the time to familiarise yourself with the portal functionality and to download the updated version of the 'My Aged Care Guidance for Providers' document.

For assessors

The 'My Aged Care Assessor Portal User Guide: Part One – Administrator functions' was published on 18 May 2015. Part Two, covering portal transactions such as managing referrals, conducting an assessment and obtaining delegate approval for care types under the Aged Care Act 1997 is now available from the For assessors page.

The 'My Aged Care Guidance for Assessors' document has been updated and now contains further detail around referral to waitlist and reports. Please take the time to familiarise yourself with the portal functionality and to download the updated version of the 'My Aged Care Guidance for Assessors' document.

11 June 2015 - 'How to' portal instruction videos

A new set of videos are available for service providers to assist them in setting up their organisation in the My Aged Care provider portal and to verify the service information that has been migrated into the portal. These videos are available on Youtube.

2 June 2015 - webinar

A My Aged Care webinar was held to provide information about the upcoming changes to My Aged Care. The webinar featured a demonstration of how service providers will interact with My Aged Care via the My Aged Care provider portal, as well as an explanation of the steps that need to be undertaken to set up service provider and assessor organisations in the My Aged Care provider and assessor portals.

The My Aged Care changes in 2015 Webinar has been recorded and is available to watch on demand.

18 May 2015 - Portals now available

The My Aged Care provider and assessor portals are now available.

Service providers and assessors are encouraged to access the portals to update their organisation's details and familiarise themselves with the new functionality prior to 1 July 2015.

The department would like to encourage providers to review support materials and talk to colleagues to resolve any concerns about using the My Aged Care portals in the first instance. If this does not assist in resolving the concern, please contact the My Aged Care provider and assessor helpline on 1800 836 799.

11 May 2015 - My Aged Care webinar

A My Aged Care webinar will be held on 26 May 2015 from 2.00pm to 4.00pm. The webinar will provide information about the upcoming changes to My Aged Care. There will be a demonstration of how service providers and assessors will interact with My Aged Care via the online portals, including an explanation of the steps that need to be undertaken to set up service provider and assessor organisations in the portal.

The webinar will also outline the support available to the aged care sector as they start to use the My Aged Care portals and provide an opportunity to ask questions.

2 April 2015 - Regional Assessment Service established

The new assessment processes being introduced through My Aged Care involve the establishment of a Regional Assessment Service (RAS). See links below for more information.

16 February 2015 - Sector briefings
