Gastro-Info Gastroenteritis Kit for Aged Care: resources to assist residential aged care homes in preventing, identifying & managing outbreaks of gastroenteritis
The Gastro-Info Gastroenteritis Kit for Aged Care is a resource kit to assist residential aged care homes identify the signs and symptoms of an outbreak of gastroenteritis to respond quickly and appropriately in the event of a gastroenteritis outbreak. It is not intended to supersede requirements under relevant legislation or to replace specific State or Territory guidelines.
This publication and all its component parts are provided to assist residential aged care services and carers in making decisions about the prevention and control of gastroenteritis. Any policies and practices dealing with the prevention and control of gastroenteritis in a residential care service should be developed in the context of relevant legislation, codes of practice and other professional standards, policies and guidelines relevant to the practice setting, together with appropriate advice on legal care issues.
