CHSP Funding Extension 2020-2022

CHSP extension grant opportunity guidelines are now available.

Grant opportunity guidelines and supporting documents are now available for the extension of funding arrangements for the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) from 1 July 2020 to 30 June 2022.

It is expected that the grant extension will provide the sector with financial certainty and allow service providers to better plan future resource, service delivery and workforce requirements.

The CHSP extension is a non-application based assessment round so you do not need to submit an application for this grant opportunity. Information held by and available to the department will be used to assess eligible CHSP providers.

This opportunity is only available to existing CHSP providers.

This is not a growth funding opportunity and CHSP service providers will not be able to request additional funding.

CHSP funding extension and program changes update

Some program changes will start on 1 July 2020 to help CHSP providers to better meet the care needs of clients and the community. These include:

  • allowing CHSP providers to reallocate up to 50 per cent of their funding across different service types and between CHSP subprograms, to meet changes in demand
  • improving performance monitoring arrangements, including reporting templates and new data entry standards.

Consultations

As part of the extension process, discussions will be held with providers where possible adjustments to funding agreements may be required under the CHSP extension, for example where providers have a history of underspending their grants.

More information about the funding extension and program changes will be available through:

  • email updates
  • webinars
  • contact from Funding Arragement Managers (FAMS).
