Partners in Culturally Appropriate Care Program Final Evaluation Report

The Partners in Culturally Appropriate Care (PICAC) program (PICAC program; the Program) has been funded by the Department of Health (the Department) since 1997 to support the provision of culturally appropriate aged care for older people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds.  In November 2017, the Department contracted Australian Healthcare Associates (AHA) to undertake an evaluation of the Program.

The evaluation questions covered three domains:

      1.    Program implementation:  How well has PICAC been implemented across states and territories and what have been the key enablers and barriers to implementation?

      2.    Program appropriateness:  How appropriate is PICAC?

      3.    Program effectiveness:  What difference has PICAC made?
