Complementary Frameworks

National Framework for Action on Dementia 2015-2018
This is a guiding document for coordinated policy in regards to people with dementia and their carers.

Fourth National Mental Health Plan
This document sets an agenda for collaborative government action in mental health during 2009-2014, offering a framework for developing a system of care that is able to intervene early and provide integrated services across health and social domains.

The Fifth National Mental Health Plan is currently under development.

National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Plan 2013-2023
This is an evidence-based policy framework designed to guide policies and programmes to improve Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health over the next decade until 2023.

National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Implementation Plan 2013-2023
The implementation plan outlines the actions to be taken by the Australian Government, the Aboriginal community controlled health sector, and other key stakeholders to give effect to the vision, principles, priorities and strategies of the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Plan 2013-2023.

National Strategic Framework for Chronic Conditions
This is the overarching policy document for chronic conditions that sets the directions and outcomes to achieve its Vision that “all Australians live healthier lives through effective prevention and management of chronic conditions.”

National Disability Strategy 2010-2020
This document sets out a ten year national plan for improving life for Australians with disability, their families and carers.

National Strategic Framework for Rural and Remote Health
This document promotes a national approach to policy, planning, design and delivery of health services in rural and remote communities.

Draft National Aged Care Advocacy Framework
This document is designed for use by National Aged Care Advocacy Program providers and outlines the key principles, priorities and outcomes that enable providers to deliver effective and high quality aged care advocacy services to consumers of all Commonwealth-funded aged care services.

The draft Framework is currently being finalised.

National Palliative Care Strategy
This document represents the combined commitments of the Australian, state and territory governments, palliative care service providers and community based organisations to the development and implementation of palliative care policies, strategies and services that are consistent across Australia.

National Guidelines for Spiritual Care in Aged Care
This is a guiding document for the delivery of spiritual care for older people living in residential aged care or receiving care and support at home.
